Iron Gate Hotel Courtyard
The courtyard of the Iron Gate Hotel from the room. The weather stayed fine and al fresco breakfasts were very pleasant.
Old Town Market
Val enjoys browsing the stalls in the Old Town Market
The Anticlimatical Clock
The "Astronomical Clock". Every hour hundreds of tourist crowd into the square to watch a couple of apostles and a cockerel make a desultry walk before the clock chimes. We called it the "Anticlimactical Clock"
The Tyn Church
The Old Town Square with the Tyn Church in the background.
Square from top of Astronomical Clock
The astronomical Clock is the first of many towers of various heights that we climb up.
View from astronomical clock
The view over the town is quite impressive...
Tyn Church from Astronomical Clock
... and gives the best view of the Tyn Chruch which can hardly be seen from  the ground as it nestles amongst the newer buildings.
Me up Astronomical clock
!
Dulcimer player in 7 Angels
Finished off the first day with a posh (and expensive!) meal with "Gypsy Musicians". The dulcimer player was very impressive.
Charles Bridge - Old Town End
The Charles Bridge is packed with tourists . . .
Musicians on Charles Bridge
... musicians...
Hurdy Gurdy on Charles Bridge
... street traders ...
Val and me on Charles Bridge
...statues...
Val on Charles Bridge
... and someone who didn't want her picture taken (sorry Val!).
Inside Church
There are a lot of churches (I can't even remember which one this is), but some of them are quite impressive...
Saint in Church
... and some of the saints seem to be quite aggressive!
Lunch by Castle
The view from the Castle is amazing - an excellent place for lunch.
St Vitus Cathedral
Even I am impressed by St. Vitus' Cathedral, in the Castle complex, which is the biggest of the lot and took 600 years (1344 - 1929) to build.
View from Petrin Tower
Day 3. Up the Funicular Railway to the copy of the Eiffel Tower - yet another tower, but the best view of the lot.
Segway
Back down in the square a girl is demonstrating the "Segway", a very clever electrical vehical with a gyroscope and a computer to balance it
Segway
It takes a bit of getting the hang of...
Segway
... but is great when you get going, although I wouldn't pay the GBP30 per hour hire charge.
Charles Bridge from boat
We round off the trip with a river cruise - The Charles Bridge is in the background.
Val on boat
And we're glad of a bit of relaxation after climbing all those towers!
